ALERT and Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust are pleased to announce that ALERT® EDIS went live at the Accident and Emergency Department (A&E) at the Princess Royal Hospital, Haywards Heath.

The A&E at Princess Royal Hospital is one of four main A&Es of the Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust, which provides services to the local populations in and around the City of Brighton and Hove, Mid Sussex and the western part of East Sussex and more specialized and tertiary services for patients across Sussex and the south east of England.

The Trust treats close to three quarters of a million patients per annum, with the Princess Royal Hospital providing acute, elective, specialist A&E and maternity services at its Haywards Heath site.

The ALERT® EDIS solution went live as planned on October 14, 2014, and is being used throughout the department by all clinical and administrative staff. Around 100 patients per day are seen and treated at the hospital’s A&E.

This is the third ALERT® Go Live at the Trust and ALERT® EDIS is also available in the Sussex Eye Hospital. Furthermore, ALERT® OUTPATIENT, another ALERT® solution, is live in the Rapid Access Care of the Elderly Clinic at the Trust.

This Go Live is one of a series of planned implementations of the ALERT® suite of products across the Trust, which will have ALERT® used Trust-wide as the core EPR solution of the organization.
