On March 2, 2009 ALERT® EDIS went live in Penang Adventist Hospital, Malaysia.

Following the contract signing on February 1, 2008, the implementation began on March 31, 2008, and within a year ALERT® EDIS went live at Penang Adventist Hospital.

The first patient registered in ALERT® EDIS was at 10.20 a.m. (Malaysia time) by Yanaseikaran, nurse and ED manager. One of the many firsts for ALERT® in Asia!

Penang Adventist Hospital, the first ALERT® Paper-Free Hospital implementation in Asia, recently became the first healthcare institution in Malaysia to be accredited by the Joint Commission International (JCI). The hospital commemorated the certification with a gala celebration on 12 June 2008, an event which was graced by the Health Minister of Malaysia, Dato' Liow Tiong Lai.

ALERT Life Sciences Computing Asia was in Penang to participate in the celebrations showcasing ALERT®'s range of products, and received extremely favorable responses from the Health Minister, who is also a doctor.
